O SHI-! (aka: Elemental has been released)

Shock fucking horror. After 8 years of planning, writing, recording, re-writing, re-recording, delays, excuses and holdups, the album is finally released.

Eventually, I decided to release it as a photobook, as it wasn't cost effective for me to print hundreds of CDs of which I might sell three. The photobook is lush, 36 pages of glorious pictures I've taken in various locations, serving as a complement to the music.

For people who want the Photobook though, it is on the pricey end of the scale. £40 plus postage/packaging. That's because it costs me nearly that much just to get each one printed and sent from some publisher in Germany. Then when it arrives, I have to stick the CD in the back of it and send it out again. So apologies if you wanted one. On the other hand, there is a cheaper version available on Bandcamp which is £8 for the originally planned actual CD with a 12-page booklet, only in completely digital format. The pictures are only JPG, if anyone wants a full-res PDF of the booklet (which wouldn't fit on Bandcamp), just get in touch with me using the email address you used to buy the digi-version on Bandcamp.

So yes, remember this when you have a spare few quid to throw away. Hopefully on this album we'll sell a few more copies than the last two albums.

Anyway, onto some other updates now:

Vampire Rising

The music will be completed once Chris finishes his compositions for his conservatoire application, and then scores a videogame he forgot about. The lyrics are currently undergoing some alterations so that I don't die when I sing it. Also still looking for models for the cover, thinking of making this a photobook/album too, and researching early-20th century Lithuanian fashion. Also still probably needing two girls to contribute some spoken-word/harmonies, one a throaty low-voice woman with hints of Croatian, Greek or Hungarian in her accent; the other a medium-to-high pitched girly voice with French or Lithuanian accent. Have two people lined up, but time will tell whether they're capable/they get mics worth recording with/they can get to Chris' studio to record properly.

Maybe expect this next though.

バカ騒ぎ

This has some progress, thankfully. I wrote a wonderful ska/metal song with the brilliant title 甘美な尻 (Luscious Buttocks), and after I struggled for months on end to put together a single Death Metal riff, Chris got bored and wrote an entire Death Metal song in a day despite never listening to the genre. That one I'm undecided on, but I think I'll refer to MOAMETAL of the J-pop/Metal crossover group BABYMETAL (she's the one with the ultimate tapping technique in the solo) and call it simply MOAMETALはCorpsegrinderよりメタル! (MOAMETAL is More Metal Than Corpsegrinder). You know, because lulz. Anyway, should be fun when it's out. Might be a while though, still just working through it at our own pace.

Jax Muskly, Robot Pimp

No progress.

Anyway, until next time.
